Laretia L. Wilson, 66, a resident of Great Lakes, IL, passed away May 9, 2026, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL.  She was born April 16, 1960 to Arland Hooper and Minnie Brown.

Laretia is survived by her father Arland (the late Mary) Hooper, her children Akayla Wilson, Lonnel (Shimeka) Robinson, and Nevin (Jaki) Wilson, her grandchildren Jeniah Robinson, Brandon Robinson, Armani Robinson, Elashia Turner, Devale Turner, and Armani Frierson, and her siblings Towana Garth, Tonia Townsend, Jacqueline Foster, Karolette James, and Eddie Williams.  She was preceded in death by her siblings Cynthia, Gail, Celeste, Doug, and Amanda and her mother Minnie Brown.

A memorial visitation and service are scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 10:00am until 11:00am with the service commencing at 11:00am.  Interment will be held privately.
