Romero "Arturo" Galan

Romero "Arturo" Galan, 81, a resident of Mundelein, IL, passed away September 1, 2026 at Integrated Palliative and Hospice in Libertyville, IL.  He was born August 24, 1945 in Big Wells, TX to Leonardo and Eloisa Galan.

Arturo is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maria Galan, his children Arturo Santos (Deneill) Galan, Nick (Adriana) Galan, and Dubelsa (Xavier) Villarreal, his grandchildren Zakia (DaiSean) Patrick, Sadora Galan, Briana Galan, Juan (Alejandra) Tellez, Alex (America) Galan, Arturo Galan, Tony Galan, Xavier Villarreal Jr., and Dylan Villarreal, and his great-grandchildren Zakhia Patrick, DaiSean Patrick Jr., DaiVon Patrick, Ayden Horton,  Angel Tellez, Aitiana Tellez, and Salvador Tellez.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Armando, Santiago, Leonardo, and Ernesto.  

A memorial visitation and service are scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with the memorial service commencing at 7:00pm.  Interment will be held privately.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Amercian Cancer Society.
