Lucille Bauer, 79, passed away peacefully at home with her family in Grayslake, IL on Tuesday April 29, 2014. She was born February 27, 1935 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Joseph and Erma Lang. Lucille was a member of St. Phillips Church in Northfield. She had retired from Dominick’s Grocery Store, loved to work on crafts, and loved her home in Florida. Lucille is survived by her sons Wayne (Cynthia) of Grayslake and Douglas of Wauconda, her grandchildren Jennifer, Jessica, Matthew, Megan, and Brittany, her sister June, and her sister-in-law Jane. Jane Lee, age 62, of Grayslake, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born June 25, 1951 in Chicago to Quon and Wai Ying Wong. Jane was a faithful, loyal, and active Jehovah’s Witness. She loved birds, cats, gardening, and especially her ministry work. She is survived by her husband, Harvey, whom she married 42 years ago on June 3, 1972 in Chicago; son, John, of Grayslake; her mother, Wai Ying Wong of Libertyville; and her siblings, Sue (Owen) Lowrey of Elgin, Matthew (Sharon) Wong of Antioch, and Richard (Trisha) Wong of Lake Villa. John Charles “Jack” Midler
John Charles “Jack” Midler, 85, of Grayslake, IL passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in Libertyville, IL. Jack was born December 4, 1928 to Charles and Margaret (Duffus) Midler in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up in Southern Minnesota, and graduated from Eyota High School, Eyota, Minnesota, in 1946, part of a class of 5.
Jack served in the Army Air Force Reserve in Biloxi, Mississippi after high school at the end of World War II. After his time in the Reserve, he attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he graduated in 1953.
Jack spent his entire professional career in two companies: General Mills, based out of Minneapolis, MN and Archer Daniels Midland based out of Decatur, IL. Jack was an avid reader throughout his life, and enjoyed playing cards, spending time at the family cottage in northern Wisconsin, and fly fishing.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Janice (Kinney); son Scott (Zoe) Midler; daughter Gayle Midler, and grandchildren Griffin Midler, Miranda Midler, and John Sison.

George C. Rosene
George C. Rosene entered eternal life on January 28, 2014 at Oak Crest (Dekalb Area Retirement Center) in Dekalb, IL at the age of 86 years. George was born to Elmer Carl Rosene and Fannie Wallace Rosene on May 31, 1927 in Princeton, IL. He moved with his family to Grayslake when he was two years old. George served in the US Navy from 1945 to 1946 at the end of World War II. On September 4, 1948 he married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Poeske in Waukegan, IL. George was a family man and truly enjoyed cheering on his sons at their high school athletic events including taking 8mm movies of their games. He served in several capacities at his church and was faithful in his attendance at services. George was predeceased by his brothers, LaVern and Lowell and his sister Genevieve Beck as well as a new-born brother, Carl E. Rosene. He is survived by his wife of 65+ years, Dorothy Rosene, his sons Stephen C. Rosene of Shabbona, IL and Michael C. (Pamela) Rosene of Carbondale, IL. His grandchildren, Jonathan C. Bernard “Bernie” McGeever, 79, formerly of Ingleside, IL passed away peacefully on April 11, 2014, surrounded by his family. Born February 19, 1935 in Cloontia, Co. Mayo, Ireland, Bernie worked alongside his brothers for ten years, in London, England before coming to the United States in 1960. he met his beloved wife, Teresa (nee: Clifford), in Chicago, IL and they married in 1965. Bernie was a longtime member of Ironworkers’ Union Local No. 1, and he worked for several years in the construction of several Chicago buildings, including the Sears (Willis) Tower, and the Dirksen Federal Building. Maria Strauss, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Thursday April 3, 2014, at the age of 78. She was born July 11, 1935 in Verovitisa, Yugoslavia Croatia to Johann and Katarina (nee: Spoljaric) Hermann. Maria was a member of the St. Mary of Annunciation Church. She loved to cook, bake, and gardening. Maria like to watch sports with her husband, but most of all she loved spending time with the family and especially her grandchildren. George William Schlung, age 77, of Antioch lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday, April 2, 2014. George was born July 28, 1936 to Jack Schlung and Peggy Molidor. He was raised in Round Lake, IL and attended Allendale. He met the love of his life Carol Johnson. They were married for 49 years and together they had four children: Ron (Lori) Schlung, Tyanna (Jeff) Cannata, Charlene (Jack) Rabey and Denise (Jeff) Greinke. He was blessed with nine grandchildren: Jennifer and Michelle Schlung, Alec, Jake and Paige Cannata, Jaime and Ashley Utter, Nicole Lidstrom and Jakob Greinke and one great-granddaugther, Vanna Lidstrom. George is also survived by his sister, Judy (Ray) Richardson and many nieces and nephews. George was a former resident of Round Lake, Fox Lake, and Hainesville. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Carol. George worked at Spinney Run Farms, Ziegler Construction, General Iron and Lake County Grading Company. He also served many years as Trustee and Police Commissioner for the village of Hainesville and was a volunteer at Condell Hospital for many years. He was a die-hard sports fan, avid snowmobiler, and loved playing cards. Most important in his life was his family as he cherished attending all of his children’s and grandchildren’s school and sporting events. Kathryn “Kate” Michelau, a resident of Grayslake, passed away March 22, 2014 at Lexington Home in Lake Zurich at the age of 84. She was born February 22, 1930 in McHenry County to Ford and Mayme (nee: Frett) Jackson. Kate married Fred “Benny” Michelau on January 5, 1952 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg. She helped manage Michelau’s Greenhouse and farm stand in Grayslake for many years. Kate enjoyed socializing with the customers. She was a big sports fan and attended many of her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Aurelio Nayal de Guzman “ADEG”, 67, of Round Lake, IL entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Sunday, March 23, 2014. He was born in Cotabato City, Philippines. Aurelio attended Notre Dame University for his Bachelor of Arts in English, Bachelor of Science in Education, Bachelor of Science in Banking and Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Aurelio continued his studies to receive a Master of Arts Degree in Economics. He was married to Alicia Saldua Barillo, on April 22, 1972, for 42 years. Aurelio was an accomplished man, most notable for his position as a Manager and Assistant Vice President of the Philippine National Bank. Aurelio was President of The Dipolog City Bankers Club, the President of the Rotary Club of Dipolog, the Governor’s Group Representative of the Rotary Club and the Director of the PNB Western Manager’s Association. Aurelio was survived by his wife Alice “Boss” de Guzman; his four children: Aileen, Avon Aurel, Alma Farrah and Althea Avice; his six grandchildren: Aubrey Pearl, Adam Kurt, Adrian Maurel, Arabella Elyse, Angelica Elle, Angelo Clyde and his two dogs: Hershey and Akira. Wayne C. Trapp, 69, a resident of Antioch, IL passed away March 16, 2014 in Kenosha, WI. He was born February 2, 1945 in Chicago to Philip and Virginia (nee: Novakowski) Trapp. Wayne was a retired 20 year veteran of the Chicago Police in the 17th District of Albany Park. He loved to hunt duck and geese, he was an avid auction attendee, but most all loved to fish with his daughter Susanne. Wayne is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janice, whom he wed on September 18, 1965 in Chicago, his children Wayne Trapp of Antioch and Susanne (Alex) Skowron of Wisconsin, his sister Kathleen of Lake in the Hills, and his dog Cody.
