Norma M. Marcin, 78, a resident of Gurnee and formerly of Chicago, passed away Saturday July 19, 2014. She was born July 31, 1935 in Chicago, IL to Gino and Mary Cattapan. Norma is survived by her husband of 40 years, Edward, her daughter Gina Marie (Jonathan Rogers) Marcin, her nieces and nephews Leo Brieske, Tina (Richard) Swanson, Geno (Michele) Brieske, Marilyn (Robert) Kirk, her great-nieces, Lyn Marie Swanson and Michelle (Robb) Westland, and her great-nephew, Sean (Sarah) Kirk, and her great-great-nieces, Reese and Addison Westland, and Aoife Kirk. Henry Charles deGroh II, 80, of Grayslake, passed away June 28, 2014 at his home in Grayslake. He was born November 23, 1933 in Chicago to Henry Sr. and Maire (nee: Springhorn) deGroh. Henry was a member of the American Legion Post 659, the Grayslake Exchange Club, the Highland Lake POA, the Village Theater Palatine, the Englewood Lions, the Grayslake Historical Society, and KIVA. Henry is survived by his wife of 31 years, Catherine (nee: Schikora) deGroh, whom he wed on August 22, 1982, his children Margaret deGroh of Ottowa, Canada, Teresa (Arne) (nee: deGroh) Jorgensen of Jackson, WY, Henry III (Kim) deGroh of Hinckley, OH, Alexander (Molly) deGroh of McHenry, IL, and Nicole deGroh of Grayslake, IL, his former wife Betty (nee: Wray) deGroh, his grandchildren Sarah, Peter, Henry IV, Daniel, Annika, Avery, Oliver, and Montgomery, and his siblings, Thomas deGroh, David (Cynthia) deGroh, Kenneth (Ursula) deGroh. Marvin E. Bohnhoff, 87, of Grayslake, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Marvin was born May 7, 1927 to August and Emma (Framke) Bohnhoff in Chicago. He was a veteran of World War II. Dear husband of Sharon (nee Swensson); father of Nancy Martin, Barbara Carr, Robert (Martha); step-father to Joanne (George) Corcoran, Gwen Surell (Bob Erickson), Andrew (Nancy) Zurow; brother of Lorraine (late Wally) Stark, late Norma (late Jack) Massey, late Kenneth (Fern); fond grandfather and great-grandfather of many; and cherished uncle and dear friend of many. Denise M. Schell

Denise M. Schell (nee: Schoenberger), 58, a resident of Round Lake, passed away Monday July 14, 2014. She was born August 1, 1955 in Nashville, TN to Frank and Mildred Schell. Denise was a talented quilter, crafter, an amazing cook, and an extremely hard worker. Denise was the beloved mother to Ken (Sabrina) Schoenberger, Kevin (Elizabeth) Schoenberger, and Kris (Moriah) Schoenberger, adoring grandma to Hunter, and loving sister to Gregg (Sue) Schell, Maurice (Nancy) Schell, and Michael (Kathy) Schell, and wonderful aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Leonard Weiss

Leonard M. Weiss, 74, of Grayslake, Illinois passed away Friday, July 11th, 2014 at Midwest Palliative and Hospice CareCenter in Glenview, Illinois surrounded by family. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 8th, 1939, and made his home in Grayslake for over 48 years. He was an electrical engineer and owned his own business until his retirement. Leonard had many hobbies including, building and programming computers, ham radio, and boating on Third Lake. He also enjoyed travel and spending time in Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters Julie (Jeff) Wynveen and Carolyn (Scott) Farnam; and son, Kurt (Julie Camarato) Weiss; 7 grandchildren: Jocelyn, Jacob and Jessica Wynveen, Kyle and Kate Farnam, Sophia and Ella Weiss. He was preceded in death by his parents Rose and Kurt Weiss.

Richard B. Schmidt, 53, a resident of Round Lake, passed away Wednesday July 9, 2014. He was born March 23, 1961 in North Chicago, IL to Robert and Jackie Schmidt. Richard was a longtime employee of Maclean Solutions in Mundelein, IL. He loved watching sports especially the Chicago Bears. Elizabeth “Liz” A. Richards, 74, a resident of Park City, IL passed away Wednesday July 2, 2014. She was born November 27, 1939 in Chicago to Edward and Eileen Kurek. Liz worked for Baxter for 27 years. She loved to travel and shop. Harvey H. Shirley L. Klugiewicz

Shirley L. Klugiewicz, 88, a longtime resident of Wildwood, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014, surrounded by family at Advocate Condell Medical Center. She was born in Chicago on May 3, 1926 to Vincent “Charlie” and Marie (Konopacky) Maday. She married Paul Klugiewicz on July 9, 1949.

During her life, Shirley was very involved in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was an active member of Saint Gilbert Church in Grayslake. Her hobbies included reading, camping, traveling, gardening, and jigsaw puzzles. Shirley enjoyed many lunches with her Birthday Club friends.

She is survived by her children Robert of Grayslake; James (Phyllis) of Kentwood, MI; Alan (Theresa) of Grayslake; Daniel (Connie) of Salem, WI; and Susan (Bruce) Dietz of Harvard. Also surviving are her brother Leroy Maday of Chicago and sister Judy Slamecka of North Riverside. Her surviving grandchildren are John (Melinda); Brianne; Sarah (Brian); Rebecca; Laura (Kirk); Peter (Kelsey); Joseph (Jacquie); David (Renee); Rosie; Samantha; and Alex. She has 8 great grandchildren and another on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, her brother-in-law Richard Slamecka, her sister-in-law Joan Maday, and her granddaughter Catherine.

Visitation will be at Strang Funeral Chapel in Grayslake on Saturday, July 5 from 9 to 10:30 a.m., followed by services at Saint Gilbert Church in Grayslake at 11 a.m., then interment at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville.

William “Bill” M. Lenzen, 54, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Monday June 30, 2014. He was born August 3, 1959 in Waukegan to Jerome and Marcella Lenzen. Bill is survived by his mother Marcella, his siblings Linda (the late James) Barnes of Kentucky, Larry (Mary) Lenzen, and Carl (Kim) Lenzen, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Jerome. Margaret R. Rossberger

Margaret R. Rossberger, 88, a resident of Lindenhurst, passed away June 27, 2014 at Victory Lakes Nursing Center in Lindenhurst. She was born August 25, 1925 in Fairmont, MN to Ole and Ella Peterson. Margaret grew up on a farm in Truman, MN. She then graduated from Kahler School of Nursing, a part of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, as a registered nurse. She was also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Des Plaines, IL. Margaret is survived by her children Kurt Rossberger and Carol (Mark) Wagner, her grandchildren William and Julie Rossberger, and Garrett (Mary) and Charles Wagner, one great-grandchildren on the way in August, her brother Stanley Peterson, and her dear nieces Nancy, Cathy, and Eve. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Erwin. Mary was born on March 6, 1917 in Omaha, NE to Charles and Elizabeth Nelson. She was a purchasing agent for the Department of Defense, United States Army at Fort Sheridan. Tina Chiara Poehlman, 24, of Grayslake, passed away Sunday June 22, 2014 at her home. She was born December 16, 1989 in Traverse City, MI to James and Irene (nee: Sanseverino) Poehlman. Tina loved to sing, dance, and was known for her fashion sense. She loved her pets and adored her brother and sisters. Angela Martin

Angela Martin, 88, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Thursday June 19, 2014. She was born March 25, 1926 in Chicago to Samuel and Josephine Mini. Angela was a member of St. Johns United Church in Waukegan where she played the organ for many years. Angela was a pianist in the Waukegan Philharmonic Society and performed with the Waukegan Orchestra. She was the only solo pianist at Waukegan Township High School winning national honors all four years. Her love of music continued with music studies at Northwestern University. She became the organist and choir director at Faith Methodist Church. Angela was well known in the Waukegan area where she taught piano to many future virtuosos. Angela is survived by her children Susan Tanjuaquio, Dave Martin, and Dan (Michelle) Martin, her grandchildren Chris Tanjuaquio, Jason Martin, Mariah Caley, Sarah Speirer, Griffin Martin, and Landon Martin, and her great-grandchildren Aleeha, Jason Jr., Chloe, Halie, Aubrie, Emma, and Craig Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Daniel S. Lawrence H. Ziegler

Lawrence H. Ziegler, 88, of Libertyville, IL and formerly of Murphysboro, IL passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville after a recent heart attack. Lawrence was born in Murphysboro, IL on March 22, 1926 to Henry Ziegler and Martha Rodewald, and at 18 years of age was drafted to serve in World War II as a Marine. Lawrence “Larry” is survived by a brother Harry Ziegler and sister Alma Andress, his children Mary (John) Francis, Jeff (Sue) Ziegler, Denise (Dan Bethel) Johnson, four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Lawrence was preceded in death by his loving wife, Winifred “Winnie” Ziegler on May 19, 2014, his sons, Larry Ziegler and Steve Muenchausen, as well as his parents and four siblings. Larry and Winnie retired from their jobs at the Great Lakes Naval Base in North Chicago, IL and enjoyed traveling across the USA for several years visiting many interesting places. They had been living at Spring Meadows in Libertyville, and prior to that in Grayslake and Murphysboro, IL. They also lived in Florida and Tennessee. Family and friends are invited to a combined memorial service for both Lawrence and Winifred Ziegler on Saturday, June 28 at the Libertyville Civic Center 135 W. Eric M. Brown, 47, of Fox Lake, IL passed away Sunday June 15, 2014. He was born July 18, 1966 in Atlantic, IA to Richard and Sharon Brown. Eric was a graduate of Drake University and Syracuse Law. He loved boating, skiing, and golfing with his family. Eric worked as an attorney and was a partner at Aronberg, Goldgehn, Davis, and Garmisa. Eric is survived by his beloved partner of 6 years, Lisa Meier, his sons Mitch Meier, Hunter Brown of Highwood, and Cooper Meier, his mother Sharon (Sid) Winchell of Atlantic, IA, his father Richard (Sally) Brown of Spirit Lake, IA, brothers Chris, Steve, and Mark, and many step-siblings, nieces, and nephews.
