Obituary's Biography:

Lawrence H. Ziegler, 88, of Libertyville, IL and formerly of Murphysboro, IL passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville after a recent heart attack. Lawrence was born in Murphysboro, IL on March 22, 1926 to Henry Ziegler and Martha Rodewald, and at 18 years of age was drafted to serve in World War II as a Marine. Lawrence “Larry” is survived by a brother Harry Ziegler and sister Alma Andress, his children Mary (John) Francis, Jeff (Sue) Ziegler, Denise (Dan Bethel) Johnson, four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Lawrence was preceded in death by his loving wife, Winifred “Winnie” Ziegler on May 19, 2014, his sons, Larry Ziegler and Steve Muenchausen, as well as his parents and four siblings. Larry and Winnie retired from their jobs at the Great Lakes Naval Base in North Chicago, IL and enjoyed traveling across the USA for several years visiting many interesting places. They had been living at Spring Meadows in Libertyville, and prior to that in Grayslake and Murphysboro, IL. They also lived in Florida and Tennessee. Family and friends are invited to a combined memorial service for both Lawrence and Winifred Ziegler on Saturday, June 28 at the Libertyville Civic Center 135 W. Church St. Libertyville, IL 60048 from 11:00am to 3:00pm. A service will be conducted at 11:30am and a light luncheon will be served immediately after.
