Bernard R. Slesnick

Bernard Robert Slesnick, 88, a resident of Grayslake and formerly of Cleveland, OH and Greenville, PA, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.  He was born January 26, 1929 in Greenville, PA.  Bernard is survived by his wife Barbara Horn-Slesnick, whom he wed on July 26, 1953, his son Steven (Susan) Slesnick, his daughter Shari (Guisseppe) Slesnick, his son Ronald (Vicki) Slesnick, his 7 grandchildren, and his 8 great-grandchildren.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 2:00pm until 3:00pm with the funeral service commencing at 3:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Patricia “Pat” O’Malley

Patricia “Pat” O’Malley, age 76, formally of Gurnee passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 in Arlington Heights, Il. She was born on August 22, 1941in Utica, NY to Dan and Peggy Sinnott. She lived in Northern Lake County for almost 50 years. She made many friends and had many wonderful experiences in that time. She taught high school English at North Chicago High School and also was a Human Resources Specialist at Mathews Employment. She than became the director of Human Resources at First National Bank of Lake Forest. Later, she worked in direct sales for a warehouse club in Gurnee. Next to her daughters, she loved her cat, Roxey. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Hallandale, Fl and Key West. One would always see Pat with a book in her hand and a crossword puzzle in on her lap.
She is survived by her daughters, Bridget (Rich) Heathfield of Chicago and Erin (John) Zasadil of Grayslake; grandchildren, Olivia Zasadil and Sydney Heathfield. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Patrick O’Malley and Harry Doyle; and her sister, Tess Thompson.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 15, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 6:00pm with the memorial service commencing at 6:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association. Gerald S. Baraksa

Gerald S. Patricia Rebecca Hunt

Patricia Rebecca Hunt, age 58, a resident of Rolling Meadows, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at her home. She was born December 15, 1958 in Chicago, IL to Donald and Mary Hunt. Patricia was an active member of the Chicago Collation Against War and Racism, Chicago Area Peace Action, Northwest Peace and Education Project. She was the Co-Founder of the Chicago Chapter of Code Pink.
She is survived by her siblings, Don Hunt and Karen Pratcher; nieces and nephews, Rosine (Nick Ladewig) Hunt, Daniel Hunt, Peter (Elise Clock) Hunt, Niki (Jason) Briggs, KC (Chance Tucker) DeNeve and Joseph DeNeve; great nieces and nephews, Delilah, Kayla, Aven, Joe, Bradley, Paxton, Chase, Liliana, Avianna, and Mallory. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Rosine Orlando; and her parents.

Jesus Amaro

Jesus Amaro, 72, a resident of Round Lake, passed away surrounded by his family and loved ones, Friday, December 1, 2017, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.  He was born May 15, 1945 in Monterrey, NL. Mexico to Florencio and Belen Amaro.  Jesus was devoted to his church and family.  He made an impact to all those that knew him and knew of him.  He loved a variety of music especially classical.  Jesus is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lillian, his children Marcela Amaro, Ezequiel (Janette) Amaro, and Daniel (Nora) Amaro, his grandchildren Alexander Silva, Julio Silva, Alex Acevedo-Amaro, Ayden Amaro, Mike Sanchez, and Lisette Sanchez, his great-grandchildren Joshua Silva and Madelyn Aguilar, his sister Rosa Maria Castañeda, his niece and nephews Claudia Esper, Pedro Castañeda, and Samuel Castañeda, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Daniel and Manuel.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Friday, December 8, 2017 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with the funeral service commencing at 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E.
