Obituary's Biography:

On June 12, 2021 at the age of 92 surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest as he did, Alvie Green of Wildwood, IL passed away.

Alvie was a Cement Mason by trade and a proud and involved member of the Shriners, Eastern Star, and a Mason.  Alvie had a passion for many things, though his grandchildren and great grandchildren were his greatest source of joy.  He also loved being outside tending to his tomatoes, cucumber’s and zucchini’s.  Alvie was a true country boy at heart and loved to sing, dance and always made people smile.  In addition, he volunteered at the VA Hospital in Waukegan where he accumulated over 10,001 hours of service. 

Alvie will be lovingly remembered by his beautiful wife of 72 years, Lennie and his children Kathy Polanco (Julio Polanco), Donna Green, Anthony Green (Sarah Green), along with his 10 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great, Great Grandchild.   Alvie was preceded in death by his two loving children Michael Green and Glenda Green. 

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030.  A celebration of Alvie’s life will be held on Thursday June 17th, 2021 at 10:30am at the funeral chapel.  Interment will follow the services at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, IL.  For more information please contact (847)223-8122 or log onto www.strangfuneral.org.

    Sending you all much love and condolences on the loss of Alvie. Alvie always had a smile for you and a great story. His love for his family was always his top priority and showed through to the world.
