Gilbert R. La Hay, 86, a resident of Round Lake, passed away May 10, 2016 in Libertyville. He was born October 28, 1929 in Duluth, MN to Arthur and Marie La Hay. Gilbert was a Korean War veteran having served with the US Army. He was a retiree of Temple Steel. Gilbert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kathleen, his son Joseph (Cathy), his grandchildren Elizabeth, Joseph (Brett), and Michael (Jessie), his great-grandson Jacob, and his sister Joye Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his 2 brothers. Fred Gewalt, age 74, of Spring Grove, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at Victory Assisted Living in Lindenhurst. He was born July 13, 1941 in Chicago to Karl and Olga (nee Ysla) Gewalt. Fred loved fishing, coaching kids sports, Western movies and, most of all, he loved being with his family. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, whom he married 49 years ago in Fox Lake on April 8, 1967; his children, Karl Josef (Ellen) of McHenry, Kristin of Spring Grove, and Paul (Nicole) of Grayslake; his grandchildren, Karly, Brooke, Eleni, Morgan, Kyla and Jack; and one sister, Debbie (George) Pugh of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents. William Voss, 46, died unexpectedly at his home in Antioch IL on Wednesday April 27, 2016. He was born on April 14, 1970 in Potsdam, NY to Stephanie Voss and Nicklas Voss. He is survived by his daughters Danielle 16 and Gracie 9, his fiancée Karen Wolson, brother Pieter Sheth-Voss, father Nicklas Voss, and his former wife Donna Turner. Bill grew up in Ithaca, NY and Northbrook IL. He graduated from Glenbrook South HS and Oakbrook Community College with a degree in business. He always enjoyed building and restoring cars, and founded Factory Finish Autobody of Round Lake Beach IL. He loved his family, the outdoors, and we will all miss his laughter, empathy and strength. Robert James Olson, 64, of Cary, Il, passed away on May 1, 2016 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Il. Robert was born on August 17, 1951 in Waukegan, Il, to Henry and Hilda Olson nee Roeske. Robert loved to work , he would help anyone, loved watching Nascar, and Football, most of all Robert loved his family.
