Obituary's Biography:

James Lionel Gibbons, 70, a resident of Gurnee, IL, passed away June 22, 2021 at his home. He was born October 16, 1950 in Saginaw, MI to Charles and Beatrice Gibbons.  James was employed for over 25 years through Teamsters Local Union #731 and #301. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Pendleton and loved fishing, playing poker, and was his family’s “Mr. Fix-it”.  James is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pamela, whom he wed on September 6, 1980 in Zion, IL, his daughters Krystal (Brent) Haubenriser of Grayslake and Karissa (Dustin) Quinn of Palmyra, WI, his grandchildren Bode Haubenriser of Grayslake, IL and Paisley Quinn of Palmyra, WI, his siblings Brenda (James) Eland and Sandra Starzer.  He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and siblings: Michael Gibbons, Steven Gibbons, and Stanley Gibbons.  A memorial visitation and service is scheduled for Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 3:00pm until 5:00pm with the memorial service commencing at 5:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030.  Interment will be held privately.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation.  For information, please call 847-223-8122 or visit www.strangfuneral.org.

  2. Jim was a great father that loved his family. Jim’s family meant everything to him. My cousin Pam married Jim 40 years ago and I was in the wedding party. I always enjoyed our conversions about fishing in particular. Jim had a good knowledge of fishing and loved it. He will be missed by all that knew him. Rest in peace Jim we will all see you again!
