Edmund W. Carey

Edmund Walter Carey, 93, a resident of Gurnee, IL, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.  He was born October 10, 1925 in Chicago, IL to Paul and Marie Carey.

Passing away at 93 years young, Ed left his mark on everyone he met. Known for his keen sense of humor, his ‘Careyisms,’ or favorite sayings, will live on forever. Ed often joked that he was so old that when he was born, the Dead Sea was just sick.

Ed loved to spend time with his friends, family, and grandchildren. He was quick to pour you a drink, ask you to “cop a squat,” and would tell best stories about growing up in a Chicago hotel and his time in WWII.
