Charles E. Green

Charles E. Green a resident of Hainesville, passed away Tuesday November 5, 2013, at the age of 89. He was born October 30, 1924 in Missouri to Chester and Mary (nee: Vertrese) Green. Charles was a Hainesville Trustee. He loved to work around the house, working on cars, and being with his family. Della A. Cepauskas

Della A. Cepauskas, a resident of Gurnee, passed away Saturday November 2, 2013, at the age of 87. She was born November 17, 1925 in Chicago, IL to Charles and Amelia Mesees. Della volunteered for many years at the Chicago Botanical Gardens. She was also a member of St. Patricks Church in Wadsworth and was a member of the Shamrocks Senior Club at St. Patricks. Della is survived by her sister Felice Lewandowski, her nieces and nephews Steven Salkos, Janet Salkos, Brian Lewandowski, John Lewandowski, and Laura Lewandowski. Cody Ray Woodruff

Cody Ray Woodruff (Brooks) a resident of Hainesville, IL passed away November 1, 2013 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL at the age of 30. He was born January 17, 1983 in Rock Springs, WY to Debbie and Ray Brooks. Cody was a member of the Living Waters Church, Free Spirit Softball, We Care bowling, and Special Rec bowling. Cody was loved by many! He was the life of every party. A loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. Cody grew up in Wyoming and South Dakota and later moved to Illinois. He graduated from Grayslake Community High School. He worked at Lakeside in Waukegan packaging office supplies. He loved bowling, softball, and played on many leagues and for the Special Olympics. Cody loved watching wrestling (WWE) and hated missing Monday Night RAW or Friday Night Smackdown. He will be more than missed and will forever be in our hearts and may he rest in peace. Cody is survived by his parents Debbie and Ray Brooks, his sister Susan (Shane) Vernooy of McHenry, and his brother Robert (Erica) Brooks of Round Lake. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Bena E. and Orland W. Strom, his aunt Cindy Paulson, his uncles Richard Gibbens and Bob Gibbens, and his brother Tim Brooks. Richard A. Nelson

Richard A. Nelson, a resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away Monday October 28, 2013, at his home, at the age of 70. He was born August 2, 1943 in Chicago to Martin and Cora (nee: Kilcrease) Nelson. Richard was a member of the American Legion, AMVets, and the VFW. He loved to garden and make dill pickles. He loved the Bears, liked to play the slots, and fish. Richard is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Jean, whom he wed April 22, 1968 in Chicago, his daughters Deborah (Greg) Hinkley of Grayslake, Corinne (David) Ness of Antioch, and Sharon (Bobby) Donnellan of Lake Villa, his grandchildren Abby, KC, Jimmy, Thomas, Max, Martin, Savannah, and Aidan, his brother Lance (Kathy) Nelson of Austin, TX, and his sister Corinne (Bob) Pflug of Mundelein. Douglas Andre, a resident of Fox Lake, passed away October 18, 2013 at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry, at the age of 70. Anna Ellen Minkalis

Anna Ellen Minkalis, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Saturday October 19, 2013, at Manor Care in Libertyville, at the age of 97. She was born September 22, 1916 in Harrisburg, IL to John and Elizabeth (nee: Birstonas) Mitzia. Anna loved to fish, an avid Cubs fan, and was known as a great cook and baker of carrot cakes. Glenda Green

Glenda Green, age 61, of Waukegan and formerly of Wildwood, passed away at home suddenly and unexpectedly on Oct. 11, 2013.  She was born in Sheffield, AL on Sep. 10, 1952.  Glenda was a caseworker with Warren Township for 14 years, and concurrently owned/operated White Lightning Cleaning in Gurnee for 13 years.  She was the beloved daughter of Alvie L. and Lennie P. {nee Smith} Green; the loving mother of Tina (Tim) Turner and Tiffany (Eric) King; the doting grandmother of Matthew & Mason Turner and Kayleigh & Cameron King; the dear sister of Kathy (Julio) Polanco, Donna Roberts, and Tony (Sarah) Green; the adored aunt of 10 and great-aunt of 4; and fond cousin of many.  Her daughter Ashley Sparks and her brother Michael Green preceded her in death.  Friends of the family may visit at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. James A. Beake

James A. Beake, a 65-year-old Ingleside resident, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, on Sat. Oct. 5, 2013.  He was born in Chicago on Mar. 12, 1948 to the now late Richard and Lorraine {nee Dost} Beake.  James was a Vietnam War veteran, having served proudly for the U.S. Army Special Forces in Airbourne Long Range Patrol (LRP), 51st Infantry F. Company.  He was an Airbourne Ranger 75th PCo.  More recently, he worked for the Illinois Tollway for 25 years.  James is survived by Marcia Beake, his wife of 37 years; his children Shaw (Bryan) Pickens, Darcie (Bill) Addis, and Rich Beake; his grandchildren Lauren, Zakk, Sydney, Ben, and Chase; and his brothers Curtis (Ed) Beake and Clinton (Dan) Beake.  Friends of the family may join them for a memorial visitation at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL, 410 E. Austin L. Lonberg

Austin L. Lonberg, a resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away Wednesday October 2, 2013, at the age of 83. He was born November 21, 1929 in Miami, OK, to Fredrick and Zora Lonberg. Austin was a veteran of the Korean War having served with the Air Force as reconnaissance. He was a retiree of IBM in Chicago after 36 years having worked as a Senior Engineer. Austin was a member and elder of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Round Lake. He was an avid hunter, loved playing golf, bowling and other sports. Austin is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beverly, his children Mike (Theresa) Lonberg, Randall (Carolyn) Watson, Jim (Loretta) Lonberg, Daniel Lonberg, Tracey Lonberg, Robin (Kenneth) Smith, Amanda Lonberg, and James Lonberg, his 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and his siblings Phyllis (Graden) Stinnnett, Lavita (Dell) Simon, and Norman Lonberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters Oleita, Imogene, Nadine, and Hazel. Kay A. Rateike

Kay A. Rateike, a 79-year-old resident of Hainesville, passed away Monday morning, September 30, 2013 at The Wealshire in Lincolnshire.  She was born in Barrington on May 8, 1934 to the now late Will and Elsie (nee Jahnke) Shepherd.  Kay was formerly a  40-year resident of Mt. Prospect, and was a devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mt. Prospect for nearly as long.  Kay was an equally devoted member of Lord of Glory Lutheran Church in Grayslake since moving to Hainesville 15 years ago.  She was the beloved wife of 59 years to Paul W. Rateike, whom she wed on June 19, 1954 in Palatine; the cherished mother of John Rateike and Susan (Jeff) Gately; the adoring grandmother of Allison, age 17, and Jake, age 12; the dear sister of Karlie Chapman, Bette (Bill) Robertson, and Waler (Becky) Shepherd.  Her son Scott preceded her in death.  Friends of the family may visit at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E.
