Obituary's Biography:

Marita L. Martin, 70, a resident of Grayslake, IL, a town in which she adored, went to the be with the Lord Jesus Christ on July 29, 2025, at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 22, 1954, in Chicago, IL to Herbert and Lillian Perlman. Marita was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. 

Marita found joy in all things and her faith in Jesus was unwavering. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, 60s music, reading, walking, studying the Bible, and serving in the church she attended. Marita’s greatest joys were being a mom and spending time with her grandchildren. 

Marita is survived by her husband of 43 years, Richard Martin, her children Becky (Todd) Wickboldt and Eric (Crystal) Martin, her grandchildren James Wickboldt, Claire Wickboldt, Hayley Martin, and Alayna Martin, and her siblings Sandy (Carol) Perlman, Joellyn (Howard) Schwerdlin, and Michael Perlman. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial visitation and service will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Living Waters Assembly of God 525 N. Atkinson Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 3pm until 5pm with the memorial service commencing at 5pm. Interment will be held privately. All funeral arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. For more information log onto www.strangfuneral.org or contact (847)223-8122.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Feed My Starving Children, an organization in which Marita loved.

      We planned to attend today but Sylvia is experiencing asthma difficulties and we are unable to attend. Please come and visit or we will arrange to do so soon. Take care.
