  1. Marie shared her many talents during during her career and in her retirement years. Her career was as a Personnel Specialist in various U.S. government agencies ending with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. After retirement from the government, she proudly served as a Library Trustee with the Grayslake Area Public Library for several years. She volunteered at the Volo Bog State Natural Area and was an active member of the Volo Bog Shutterbugs camera club. Her love of history and reading led her to write “The Inside Story: Grayslake Area Public Library” and “Sailing through time: a history of Highland Lake, Lake County Illinois.” She also contributed to the Grayslake history book, “Grayslake: a historical portrait.” Marie shared her love of travel and photography by presenting travelogs at local retirement communities. She will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate to know her.
