Abby L. Warchal

Published March 16,2022

Obituary's Biography:

Abby Leona Warchal, age 43, a resident of Twin Lakes, WI left us suddenly on Saturday, March 12, 2022 as a result of a traffic accident.  Her passing has left an empty space in the heart of her family. She was born on November 20, 1978.

Abby was many things, an avid Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Dr. Who fan.  She loved the Beatles, Dave Matthews Band, the musicals, Rent, Les Misérables, Wicked and Annie.  For Abby the sun always came out tomorrow no matter what.

Abby was, is a force to be reckoned with since the day she arrived, late as usual.  She was a butterfly with attitude, a larger-than-life laughter, a singer, a fearless glitter bomb that we will never be able to sweep completely away.  Traces of her will be wherever we go.  But most of all she loved her family, she loved Chris, Mike, her parents, Cathy and Ed, Mike, Holly, Carolyn, Megan, and her new niece little Avery.  She loved Jean, Margaret, Michelle, and all of her extended family on both sides.

Abby has left a hole that will never be filled, but if we are quiet, we can hear angel’s wings and we will know she is near.

Abby leaves behind her cherished son, Christopher Graf; her loving partner, Michael Graf; her parents, Ed and Cathy Warchal; her brother, Michael (Holly nee Bulian) Warchal; her second mom, Jean Graf; her aunt, Alexandra Zalupski; as well as aunts and uncles and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins from both sides of her extended family.  Her soul sisters, Carolyn Harden and Megan Stejskal have lost a great friend.  She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Edmund; her maternal and paternal grandparents that included Ed Besler, better known as Grampa Gorilla to his loving granddaughter, a running gag they carried on for many years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030.  A funeral service will be held on Friday at the funeral chapel at 8:00 pm.  Interment will be held privately.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for her son, Christopher’s education. https://www.gofundme.com/f/christopher-graf-education-fund?qid=ff9d1038f9cfcb91c4c6a7ba13be76a8
