Thomas Lee

Thomas Lee, 75, a resident Grayslake, IL,
passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in
Libertyville, IL.  He was born May 29,
1943 in Chicago, IL to Howard and Dorothy (nee: Neveu) Lee.  Thomas was an avid golfer, making his own
custom clubs, and loved teaching golf at his driving range that he owned.  He enjoyed being the first football coach
with the Grayslake Colts Pee Wee Football. 
Tom was an incredible entrepreneur, builder and renovator, loving to work
with his hands.  Tom is survived by his
wife of 52 years, Annette, whom he wed on December 27, 1966 in Round Lake, IL,
his children Jamie (Richard) LaPorta of Chicago and Shawn Lee of Lindenhurst,
his grandchildren Ruby, Owen, Ryan, Conner, Camryn, Jadyn, and Trae, and his
siblings Lora (Jim) Bush of Lake Forest and Bonnie (Terry) Mahoney of Round
Lake.  He was preceded in death by his
parents, his son Jason, and his brother Ron. 
A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, February 3, 2019
from 11:00am until 1:00pm with the funeral service commencing at 1:00pm at Strang
Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030.  Interment will be held privately.  Memorial donations may be made to the Lyme Support

Mary Geryol

Mary E. Geryol, 67, a resident of Grayslake,
IL passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at The Grove on the Lake nursing
home in Zion, IL.  She was born March 10,
1951 in Waukegan to Stanley and Cecille Geryol. 
Mary worked for 30 years for Dr. Harsh Kumar in Gurnee.  Mary is survived by her daughter-in-law
Jennifer Herman, her grandchildren who lovingly called her G.G., Madison and
Andrew, her cousin Shari Kordecki, her grand-dog Sherman, several nieces and
nephews, and many special friends.  She
was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers John, Tom, and Ray, and her
son Michael Herman.  A visitation and memorial
service is scheduled for Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 10:00am until 11:00am
with the memorial service commencing at 11:00am at Strang Funeral Chapel &

Larry G. Fletcher

 LLarry G. Fletcher , 75, a resident of Lake Villa, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.  He was born December 31, 1943 in Freeburn, KY to Milton and Lillian “June” Fletcher.  Larry was retired from Pepper Construction in Barrington after 39 years of dedicated service.  He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching the History and Discovery Channel.  Larry enjoyed travelling with his family in his younger days having a great fondness for the Appalachian Mountains, camping, and being outdoors, especially working in the yard.  Larry is survived by his children Carol Will and Larry Gene Fletcher, his grandchildren, Amanda (DeVone) Patterson, Bradley (Shannah) Brinegar, Sara (Alex) Garay, Jessica Will, Kayla Fletcher, Brandi Fletcher, Samantha Fletcher, and Michael MacDonald, his great-grandchildren, Destynee, Aaleyiah, , lil’DeVone, Tina, Khloe, lil’Brad, Blake, Armani, Ariana, Markecia, Lorenzo, Emily, Aiden, and Paisley, his sister Brenda (the late Joe) Tomsovic, his mother-in-law Alma Weglarek, his sister-in-law Mary Koehn, his nephews, Jason Weglarek and Jonathan Weglarek, his cousin Chuck Barrett, and his special friends Debbie Schaedel-Karlsen, Jessica Chase, and Walter Ori, his cat Kuddles.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, his daughter Laura Brinegar, his brother Therman Fletcher, his sisters Pamela Adkins, and Linda Kay Fletcher, and his cat Snowflake.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 12:00pm until 4:00pm with the funeral service commencing at 4:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. LaVerne M. Ross

Laverne M. Ross, 88, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.  She was born July 16, 1930 in Chicago, IL to James and Mary Kennedy.  LaVerne was a member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church.  She enjoyed cross-stitching as a hobby.  LaVerne is survived by her husband of 63 years, Anthony, her children Jennifer Ross, Kathleen (Steven) Harmantas, Donald (Wanda) Ross, and Carolyn Lawrenz, her grandchildren Christina (Christopher), Natalie (Dave), Steve Jr. (Kelly), Theresa (Josh), Anthony (Crystal), Jonathan (Kelsey), Patrick (Bianka), Andrew, and Nicholas, and her great-grandchildren Alexia, Cayden, Alivia, Paxton, Nevaeh, Keaghan, Brynlee, Liam, Josh Jr., Owen, Logan, Leia, and Kaylie.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Marian, Bernice, Douglas, Patrick, and Joan.  A visitation is scheduled from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00pm Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Richard W. Pease

Richard W. Pease, 84, of Grayslake, IL formerly
of Arlington Heights, passed away peacefully in his sleep from complications
due to congestive heart failure on January 28, 2019. Born in Chicago, the son
of Wendell and Pearl (Veidt) Pease, he enlisted in the US Navy after high
school and served on the USS Rochester before attending the University of
Illinois. In 1958 Richard started working at Illinois Bell where he met his
future wife Bobbie in 1961. Together they shared a love that lasted 57 years.
Richard retired in 1989 from Illinois Bell/AT&T and spent the last 30 years
doting on his loving wife and family. His favorite activities included travel
around the world with Bobbie, dancing, golf, boating, or watching his beloved
Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks win championships. Richard also
loved attending his grandchildren’s sports and dance performances of which he
was so proud. He is survived by his cherished wife Bobbie (Gildemeister) Pease
along with his children Jeff (Jodi) Pease of Buffalo Grove and Sue (Jim)
Faulhaber of Gurnee. Richard was the proud and beloved “Papa” to Brendan,
Zachary, Jarrett, Kiara, Shannon, and Elli who all miss him terribly. He is
also survived by his sister-in-law Marilyn McCown, brother-in-law Alan
Gildemeister and many nieces and nephews.  Richard was preceded in death
by his parents Wendell and Pearl Pease, his in-laws Robert and Marianne
Gildemeister, his brother-in-law Harlan McCown, and sister-in-law Martha
Gildemeister. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Strang
Funeral Chapel, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake from 3:00 to 9:00 PM. Memorial
visitation will be on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Faulhaber family home;

Margaret M. Hook

Margaret M. Hook, 93, a resident of Antioch, IL, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019.  She was born March 24, 1925 in Niles Center, IL.  Margaret is survived by her sons, Tim and Gary Hook; and her sister, Ann Hook.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond D. Rose Bellefeuille

Rose Bellefeuille passed peacefully at home on Friday, January 25, 2019.  She was born on February 17, 1939 to James and Lillian Davis in Fisk, MO.  Rose spent her life serving other as a daughter, sister, mother, and waitress.  Being the eldest of four children (Rose, John, Norma and Greg) during her father’s Naval Career, she worked as a young teenager to help support her family as they traveled the world to places such as Italy.  While in California she even made waffles for the stars to earn the money to buy furniture for her family’s new home.  Arriving finally to North Chicago she met the love of her life Michael “Corky” or “Iron Mike” Bellefeuille.  Together Rose and Mike settled into their homes in Waukegan and finally Grayslake where she lived since 1972.  They had two children, Steve and Sheryl, to whom Rose was a devoted mother. Rose worked as a waitress in places such as Ted’s Log Cabin and the Ramada Waukegan to make sure her family had the extras in life.  When Didier Farms opened in Buffalo Grove, Rose became a favored Farm Stand Employee who made sure their tomatoes were perfectly displayed.  Rose had many interests in life but she loved card games and going on Casino bus trips.  Many nights over the years she played card games into the night with her family or her “second daughter” Mary Jwina Van Brackel.  In her later years she went on and looked forward to her trips to the casino with her friends on the “bus” or her long time neighbor, Mary Cooney. Rose during the last few years of her life fought a tough battle with dementia.  She was supported in her battle by her daughter Sheryl and son-in-law Scott Pierce, her two granddaughters Courtney and Madison.  The battle was eased by her close neighbor and pal Mary Garcia and family who checked on Rose daily.  Her niece Susan Hopkins called daily to discuss life and memories to comfort Rose.  Jennifer Anderson provided caregiving relief to the family three days a week and spent many long hours with Rose as she walked through the garden of dementia.  Many healthcare team members stepped in also to help and are deeply appreciated. Rose was preceded in death by many she loved dearly: husband, Michael;  son Steve; mother Lillian; father James; brother John; brother-in-law Teddy; and sisters-in-law Carol and Theresa. She is survived by her daughter Sheryl (Scott) Pierce; granddaughters Courtney (fiance Michael Goldberg) and Madison Pierce; brother Greg Davis; sister Norma Davis; brother-in-law George Bellefeuille; sister-in-law Pat Bellefeuille; and many loved nieces and nephews.  She also had many favorite dogs over the years: Coco, Josh, Lucy, Noodle and Lola.  A visitation and funeral service are scheduled for Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with the funeral service commencing at 10:30 a.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Maria A. VanCrey

Maria A. VanCrey, age 79, of Wildwood passed away at her home on January 21, 2019.  She was born in the Netherlands to Adnoldus and Jacoba VanRooy. Maria was everything a nurse and volunteer should be; she was kind, caring and giving.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She loved to tell everyone that she had 6 children with 2 sets of twins! She is survived by her children, Harold (Christine) VanCrey of Fox Lake, Myron (April) VanCrey of Fallbrook, CA, Jack VanCrey of Wildwood, Jerry VanCrey of Wildwood, Renee (Jeffrey) Pieroni of Richmond, and Raymond (Kathleen) VanCrey of Wildwood; her grandchildren, Heather (Keith) Baum, Holly (Jason Haines) VanCrey, Joseph (Meta) VanCrey, Amber Clouser, Amy Clouser, Brooke (Adam) Coutteau, Morgan (Kienan) Wubs, Sandra Loiko, Nicholas VanCrey Petersen, Vincent Pieroni, Kimberly (Eric) Quinn, Jacqueline (Casey) Taylor, and Kristin Battisfore; her siblings, Ann Dingen, CorryGraumans, and Tony Van Rooy.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerard Johannes VanCrey, Ali Vandesande, Jan Van Rooy, and her sister, Henrietta “Jetty” VandenBroek. Michael C. Russo

Michael C. Russo, 59, passed away peacefully
in his sleep on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at his home in Ingleside.  Michael suffered from many complications of
diabetes and his long road of suffering has ended and he is with God now.  Mike was born on July 25, 1959 and was raised
by his parents May and Sonny Russo on the northwest side of Chicago.  He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Joy
C. (nee: Schultz) Russo, his younger sister Teresa “Terri” (Robert) Godar, his sister-in-law
Faith (Mark) Krebs, and his nephew Nicholas Krebs.  Michael also known as “Big Mike” had a heart
as big as his name and showed generosity and compassion in many ways.  He loved Chicago sports, music, and debating
various topics.  Mike loved animals, the
outdoors, and a good party.  He always
made people feel welcome in his house and when they were down on their
luck.  A memorial visitation and service
is scheduled for Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 10:00am until 12:00pm with the
memorial service commencing at 12:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel &

George R. Dorn, Jr.

George R. Dorn, Jr., 57, a resident of Volo, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019 at his home.  He was born March 27, 1961 in Maywood Park, IL to George Sr. and Shirley Dorn.  George is survived by his wife, Loretta; his parents; his son, Jeremy Dorn, his step-children Anastasia (Charles) Yeoman, Thomas (Lauren) Tockey and Janelle Berger; his sister, Liz Dorn; niece, Brooke Valent and nephew, Benjamin Valent.  He is preceded in death by his step-son, Eric Berger.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00pm with a funeral service commencing at 5:00pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E.
