Robin R. Dixon

Robin R. Dixon, 53, a resident of Park City passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at her Illinois home. She was born January 1, 1965 in Chicago, IL to Carl DeKaiser and Elaine Watson. Robin worked for Carson’s, Baxter Healthcare, and EHLS. She is survived by her son Adam Dixon and his wife Laura Dixon, and her sisters Tracy Horner (Ray) Watson-Horner and Jaime (Robert) Watson, and her brother Kevin Watson. John G. Plotner

John Gale Plotner, age 71, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, IL. He was born April 14, 1947 in Kokomo, IN to Warren and Jean Plotner. John was a member of UPC of Grayslake. He attended Indiana University where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He worked as a teacher and guidance counselor in Wilmette. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith; his children, Jennifer Maiden (Edward Schwall) of Grayslake and Benjamin (Maria) Plotner of Oak Forest; grandchildren, Megan Heniff, Nicole Heniff, Luke Heniff, Carter Maiden, Ashlyn Maiden and William Maiden; sister, Sarah Jane (Johan) Berger; mother-in-law, Mary Lou Harrell; and sisters-in-law, Sue (Tom) Buck and Anita (Kevin) Cline. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Ray J. Harrell. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11am at the United Protestant Church of Grayslake, 54 S. Whitney St, Grayslake, IL 60030. A visitation will be held at the church from 10am until the time of the service. May A. Memenga

May A. Memenga, 89, a resident of Round Lake, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. She was born September 27, 1928 in Chicago, IL to Leonardo and Lena Digangi. May was a member of the Round Lake Senior Club at the Round Lake Park District and a member of St. Joseph Church in Round Lake. May is survived by her children Diane (Robert) Tarello, Gloria Memenga, Donald (Kathy) Memenga, Steven (Debbie) Memenga, Jeffrey (Michelle) Memenga, Bryan (Erin) Memenga, her sister Madeline Simmons, and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Leonard and Joseph Digangi. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 25, 2018 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. Steven Michael Strasheim

Steven Michael Strasheim, age 56, a resident of Park City, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest.  He was born on June 23, 1961 to Henry and Nancy (Pias) Strasheim.  Steven liked to shop and he especially loved being with his family.  He his survived by many nieces and nephews; his siblings, Robert (Linda) of Grayslake and Thomas of Oklahoma; two half-brothers, Larry and Terry; and his best friend, Pookie, his service dog.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law, Cheryl, and his close friend, Rosie.  A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with a funeral service at 7:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  For information, please call 847-223-8122 or go to www.strangfuneral.org.

 

Michael L. Snyders

Michael L. Snyders, 74, a resident of Wildwood, IL, passed away May 12, 2018 at his home. He was born June 14, 1943 in Wheeling, IL to Andrew and Dorothy Snyders. Michael was a veteran having served for the US Navy from 1961 to 1965. He had worked for Lake Forest Hospital as Head Groundskeeper for 20 years. Michael is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janice, his daughter Heather (David) Mraz, his grandchildren Natalie and Amanda Mraz, his siblings Tomas (Debbie) Snyders, Jack (Betty) Snyders, and Sandy Snyders. She was preceded in death by his parents and his son Michael. Dorothy B. Leska

Dorothy B. Leska, 63, a resident of Sugar Land, TX, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 in Houston, TX.  She was born September 29, 1954 in Chicago, IL.  She was retired and worked as a retail clerk.    Dorothy is survived by her husband of 32 years, William, her daughter, Heather Leska; her sister, Jeanne Strassburger; and her many nieces and nephews.  A visitation is scheduled for Friday. Mark Allen Behenna

Mark Allen Behenna, age 42, a resident of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.  Born in Waukegan on June 13, 1975, he was the son of John and Karen Behenna.  Mark is survived by his son, Marcus, of Waukegan; his ex-wife and mother of Marcus, Laura Behenna; nieces and nephews, Michael Behenna, Zachary Behenna, Christina (Chris) O’Bryant and Justin (Felicity Bell) Howard; his siblings, Cindy Behenna of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, Scott (Carole) Behenna of Genoa City, Wisconsin, Kim (Geoff) Donehey of Round Lake and Melissa (Joe) DeMatteis of Villa Park; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Wyatt O’Bryant, Kayden Howard, Kiara Howard, and Ryder O’Bryant. Samuel Carrillo

Samuel Carrillo, age 61, a resident of Round Lake, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Journey Care in Barrington. He was born June 21, 1956 in El Parral, Zacatecas, Mexico to Irineo and Josefa Carrillo. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Round Lake. Samuel is survived by his wife, Maria, whom he married 42 years ago in August of 1976 in Waukegan; his children, Lorena (Jose) Carranza of Palatine, Leticia (Jaime) Gonzalez of Volo, and Claudia (Richard) Free of Round Lake; his grandchildren, Cynthia Lainez of Volo, Edward Carranza of Palatine, Alex Carranza of Palatine, Julianna Gonzalez of Volo, and Alessandra Ava Free of Round Lake; his eleven brothers and sisters, Otelia (Tom) Flores, Edelmira Carrillo, Amelia (Juan) Ponce, Jesus (Ofelia) Carrillo, Raul (Dolores) Carrillo, Santos (Consuelo) Carrillo, Abraham (Josefa) Carrillo, Josepha (Manuel) Cervantes, Esperanza (Joaquin) Rojas, Gloria (Eloy) Ramos and Blanca (Fernando) Gallegos; and many nieces and nephews and other family members. Francisco Hernandez

Francisco Hernandez, age 88, a resident of Round Lake, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at his home. He was born in Mexico on January 22, 1930. Francisco was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Round Lake. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Aurora Hernandez; 9 children, 23 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Saul Hernandez-Rios; grandson, Roy Lopez; parents; and grandparents.

Walter A. Shank Sr.

Walter Adrian Shank Sr., 94, a resident of Wildwood, IL on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Spring Meadows in Libertyville, IL.  He was June 11, 1923 in Tunnelton, WV to Walter and Anna (nee: Blotchett) Shank.  Walter was a member of Local 250 for over 50 years.  He was a highly skilled craftsman and worked professionally as a carpenter.  Walter could fix anything, enjoyed fishing, was a barbeque king, and was an expert horseshoe player.  Walter is survived by his children Ronald (Kay) Morgan of Tampa, FL, Walter (Eva) Shank of Lexington, KY, Mike Shank of Waukegan, IL and Larry Shank of Wildwood, IL, his four grandchildren, his one great-grandchild, and his siblings Louise Vickers of Morgan Town, WV and Betty (Jim) Potts of Memphis, TN.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Helen Shank.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Friday, May 18, 2018 from 11:00am until 1:00pm with a funeral service commencing at 1:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E.
