Obituary's Biography:

Richard Stephen Merker a resident of Round Lake Beach, IL, passed away Monday September 16, 2013 at the age of 64. He was born September 30, 1948 in Chicago, IL to Leo and Delores (nee: Borscha) Merker. Richard was a member of the Jay Cees. He loved to fish, bake, and was a lover of animals. Richard is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen Merker, whom he wed on October 1, 1966 in Chicago, his daughter Sandra Merker of Lake Zurich, his sister Kathleen Uptagraw of Wisconsin, and his brother James Merker of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Michelle Lange. Friends of the family may visit Wednesday September 18, 2013 from 4:00pm until 8:00 pm at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030. A funeral service will be held on Thursday September 19, 2013 at 10:00am at the funeral chapel. Interment will be held immediately following the service at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights, IL.
