Obituary's Biography:
Richard Roman Galeczka, 65, of Grayslake, IL was called home to God on August 7th, 2025. He was born on February 24, 1960 in Chicago, IL to Karol and Albina (nee Cwiklik) Galeczka.
Richard was a loving father, husband, and proud soon-to-be grandfather. He found joy in life’s simple blessings—having family dinners with his wife and daughters, going to Karaoke night every Friday at Jack and Lydia’s to sing Frank Sinatra songs, cheering on the Chicago Bears and White Sox, or relaxing while watching Jeopardy with his daughters. He also enjoyed spending his days with his mother and the family dog, Sox.
He is survived by his wife, Ingrid, of 27 years; his mother, Albina; his daughters, Erika of Chicago, Kristina (husband Keefer) of McHenry; and his future grandson, Noah. He was preceded in death by his father, Karol; and brother, Stan.
A Funeral Service will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 6pm. A visitation will be held at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 2pm until the time of the service. Interment will be held privately. Sorry to hear about Roman he was a great guy. We used to go to Sox games together and watch the Bear’s play at the local bar
