Obituary's Biography:
Peter John Hafijchuk, 80, a resident of Round Lake, IL, passed away on July 4, 2025, at Bridgewater Healthcare in Carmel, IN. He was born on July 11, 1944, in Pniv, Stanislaviv, Galician, Ukraine to Iwan Hafijczuk and Anastasia Hafijczuk. Peter was a member of the American Legion.
Peter is survived by his daughter, Christine (John) Schmitt; and his grandchildren, Alexander (Hayley) of Westfield, IN, Allyson of Carmel, IN, Anastasia of Carmel, IN, and Angelina of Carmel, IN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; and his parents Iwan Hafijczuk and Anastasia Hafijczuk.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, July 11, 2025, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. Interment will follow the visitation at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville, IL 60048 on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 2:30pm. Pete always had a smile on his face greeting us. My son Ken Will always remember the beef they had for dinner. lol. He was always kind. I know he missed Pat so much.
