Obituary's Biography:

Julie Ann Jonas passed away on February 11 in Chicago, Illinois. She was born on May 4th, 1967 at Highland Park Hospital and was the daughter of Marilyn and Joesph Jonas of Libertyville, IL.

To those who knew her, Julie was a strong presence; creative, adventurous, funny, smart, sharp witted, and a gifted artist and writer. Jul, as her friends and family called her, had a deep love for animals (cats in particular) and had a passion for travel, spending time at the beach, Mexican food and reading/writing literature.

Julie worked as a travel agent throughout most of her life and studied creative writing at Roosevelt University in Chicago. She also traveled throughout Asia and taught English as a second language while living in Taiwan.

Throughout the many health challenges she faced during the latter years of her life, Jul always retained her fighting spirit and worked as an advocate for patients rights in the facility where she lived. She was stronger than anyone realized because she’d been through more than anyone could imagine- Julie had a genuine heart and a warriors soul.

She is survived by her Mother, Marilyn Jonas, her three brothers, Tim, Steve and Chris Jonas, her Aunt Lois Hart, her four Nephews Ian, Conrad, Adrian and Alex Jonas, and her long-time friend Susan Delphino. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Mildred Hart, her father Joesph Jonas and her aunt Dorothy Hart.
A memorial will be held online on Sunday, February 25th at 2pm standard time. Please contact Tim Jonas at peegonew@yahoo.com if you wish to attend. Jul’s ashes will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean.
