Obituary's Biography:

Julia (nee: Kasprzyk) Wojtarowicz, 97, a resident of Wildwood, passed away Thursday February 27, 2014. She was born August 5, 1916 in Chicago. She was married to the now deceased Stanley Wojtarowicz for 51 years. She is survived by her children Roger (Sharon Beatty) of Antioch, Julene( her deceased husband Robert) Mumenthaler of Wildwood, and Joyce Engel of Kenosha, WI, her 7 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and very close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, and loving husband Stanley. Julia was the youngest of 7 girls. She had an adventurous spirit all of her life. She completed her nurses training at Norwegian-American Hospital in Chicago. She joined the Army prior to the start of World War II and served as a nurse at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. She earned the rank of Second Lieutenant. In 1952 Stanley and Julia moved their family from Chicago to Wildwood and she remained a resident of Wildwood for the rest of her life. She was a member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church in Grayslake for 62 years, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, St. Vincent De Paul Society, and Friendship Club.. Julia was a member of AARP through Warren Township, Warren Township Senior Center, Grayslake Library Lane Senior Center, Homemakers of Grayslake, and Grayslake Alley Cats bowling league. Julia worked as a nurse at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville from 1953 to 1961. Stanley and Julia enjoyed travel and after his retirement took many trips with Gem Tours as well as with family and friends. A visitation is scheduled for Friday February 28, 2014 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. A funeral mass is scheduled for Saturday March 1, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. Entombment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent De Paul care of St. Gilbert Church.
