Obituary's Biography:

Ellie Jean Myers, recently of Kenosha, Wi and formally of Mesa, AZ and Wildwood, IL passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.  She was born December 31, 1932 in Giles County, Tennessee to JD and Christine (nee Miles) Abernathy.  On July 9, 1951 she married the love of her life, Hugh Myers.  He preceded her in death on November 20, 2013. 

Jean worked for Boysen Well in Libertyville for several years before quitting to raise her family.  During this time Jean also was the bookkeeper for their business, Myers & Cannon Amoco Stations until retiring in April of 1989.  Jean enjoyed sewing and embroidering crib quilts for family and friends.  The quilts are fondly called “Grandma Blankets”. She also enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing keno and gardening. 

Jean is survived by three daughters, Betty (Terry) Yarnall of Lake Villa, Nancy DeVore of Rio Rancho, NM and Paula (Jeff) Martin of Gurnee; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer Yarnall, Brian (Chelsie) DeVore, Jamie (Jim) Nottsinger, Keith (Valerie) DeVore, Joshua (Aymi) Yarnall, Zackery Martin, Megan Martin and Joseph Martin; 5 great grandchildren, Paige and Blaine Pickens, Jack and Addison DeVore and Evelyn Yarnall. 

A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 10:00am until 11:00am with the funeral service commencing at 11:00am at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E.
