Dorothy E. Giernoth, a resident of Round Lake, IL, passed away Friday June 28, 2013 at the age of 86. She was born in Chicago, IL. Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Round Lake and had retired from Walmart. Dorothy is survived by her children Mary Lee (James) Anderson, Andrew (Diane) Giernoth, Walter (Corinne) Giernoth, and Dan (Karen) Giernoth, her grandchildren Mark (Tracy) Anderson, David Anderson, Susan (Ramiro) Berreles, Carol (Robert) Berreles, Lee (Erin) Giernoth, Greg (Stacia) Giernoth, Kim (Josh) Kinard, Matt Giernoth, Robin (Shawn) Rossmann, Melissa Giernoth, and Michael Giernoth, her great-grandchildren James, Brandon, Autumn, Emily, Cody, Desiree, Jacob, Nickolas, Tiffany, Heather, Josie, Paige, Dan, Madelyne, Sara, Tyler, and Caleb, and her sister Lorraine Sisson. She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Giernoth, whom she wed on April 2, 1946, and her brothers Elmer Mied and Arthur Mied. A visitation is scheduled for Monday July 1, 2013 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday July 2, 2013 at 10:30am at the funeral chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Windridge Cemetery in Cary, IL.
