Anne M. Ayres
Obituary's Biography:
Anne Marie Ayres, 69, of Grayslake, IL, passed away on May 7, 2025, at her home. She was born on January 8, 1956, in Hinsdale, IL to Albert and Winnie May Grimmer.
Anne, beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend was a beacon of warmth, compassion, and strength whose presence made the world a kinder place.
Anne grew up embracing the values of family, service, and gentleness. As a daughter and sister, she radiated loyalty, love, and unwavering support. Her nurturing spirit carried into her roles as a wife and mother, where she created a home filled with laughter, love, and patience. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life, and she delighted in every hug, giggle, and story shared.
A woman of many talents and endless dedication, she wore many hats in her lifetime: an inspiring scout leader, a patient and passionate teacher, a joyful cheerleader on the sidelines of kids’ sporting events, a skillful baker whose treats brought joy to all, and a talented seamstress whose hands crafted with love. Her garden bloomed as beautifully as her generous heart, and she found special joy in caring for animals with tenderness and respect.
Kind-hearted, all-loving, and endlessly patient, Anne lived a life of grace and giving. She taught us, by example, how to love deeply, serve humbly, and live fully. Her legacy is one of love-woven through every life she touched, every soul she comforted, and every memory we hold dear.
She will be profoundly missed but forever remembered with love.
Anne is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dean, whom she married on October 24, 1981 in Arlington Heights, IL; her children, Joseph (Shannon) of Grovetown, GA, Timothy (Danna) of Libertyville, and Carolyn (Devin) of Ingleside; her grandchildren, Autumn, Odin, Phoenix, Ember, Jonathan “Jack”, and Callen; and her sister, Jeanna Etling. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Karen Grimmer and Mary Grimmer; and her parents.
A memorial visitation will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 11am until 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Reach Rescue, Inc (372 Townline Rd, Mundelein, IL, 60060).
