Obituary's Biography:

Deborah L. Christiansen, 60, a resident of Lake Villa, IL, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, in Highland Park, IL surrounded by family. She was born March 19, 1965, in Chicago, IL to David and Carole Roy.

Debbie will be remembered most for her generous heart and unwavering love. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, entertaining and cooking for others, and cherishing everyday moments and the milestones with those she loved. She was endlessly proud of her two daughters, whose lives were shaped by her love and strength. Her kindness touched everyone who knew her, and her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. 

Debbie is survived by her mother Carole Roy, her children Jenelle (Randy Smith) Christiansen and Julia (James) Anslow, her granddaughter Eleanor Anslow, and her many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her father and her brother Steven Alan Roy.

A memorial visitation and service are scheduled for Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm with the memorial service commencing at 7:00pm.  Interment will be held privately.  For more information please log onto www.strangfuneral.org or contact (847)223-8122.

  1. Jenelle, Julia and Carole I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my prayers. Debbie always looked out for us and was always there when needed. I will miss her greatly.

  4. To the family of Debbie, I am sending my deepest sympathy. Debbie was a kind, generous, loving friend. I remember Debbie cooking, baking and helping serve meals for my daughter’s dinner the night before her wedding and then again for brunch the day after the wedding. That’s the kind of person was, that’s what she loved doing. I will miss her beautiful smile and contagious laugh. Rest in peace, Debbie, you are loved by so many.
