From a young age, he loved sports and competition. He played baseball, football and wrestled while growing up. He loved following and cheering on his Nebraska Cornhuskers. His love for the Cornhuskers ran deep in his family and he passed that on to his children. This love of sport and competition was continued into his adult years where he played Rugby with the Marines, Overseas in Portugal, Lake County Gladiators, eventually coaching the Lake County Yotes. He enjoyed playing Steel-Tip Darts which he introduced to his son and eventually formed a bond in friendly competition.
When Mike was 19, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served for 5 years. He was stationed in Hawaii, where he deployed to Okinawa and the Philippines. He then transferred to Parris Island, S.C. While at Parris Island, he met his wife Lisa and they were married on September 7, 1991. They had two children together, Alex Scott and Megan Driskill. While living in Portugal, Mike and the family travelled around Europe to Spain, France, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, England, and the Netherlands. Mike loved the time he spent travelling with his family. They were some of his fondest memories.
He worked at Abbott for 10 years and was looking forward to early retirement to spend more time with his family. He looked forward to having the time to watch his grandson, Chase Scott, at his basketball games and the opportunity to spend more time watching his granddaughter, Piper Driskill, grow.
Michael is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lisa Scott, his mother Pamela (Don) Spence, his father Augie (Jean) Castillo, his children Alexander (Arielle) Scott and Megan (Daniel) Driskill, and his grandchildren Chase Scott and Piper Driskill.
