Obituary's Biography:

It is with great sadness that the family of Billie Rae Hill (nee O’Neill) announces the passing of our beloved mother on May 13, 2025.

Billie Rae will be lovingly remembered by her children Eugene Jr.”Gene” (Susan), the late David, Linda (Thomas)Thompson, Richard “Rick”, Maureen (Larry)Kruse, Michael (Kristine);

Cherished Grandma B.R. to grandchildren, Brandy, Derek(Carrie), the late Jason, Stacy(Robert), Amber(Peter), Jeffrey, Matthew (Paula), Shari(David), Eric, Kathryn, Brian(Hannah), great grandchildren, Andrew, Chloe, Benjamin, Quinn, Colin, Gavin, Logan, Hailey, Elizabeth, Elliott, Avery. Dear sister of Maureen (the late Rich), Tom (Joan), the late Robert (Florence), the late Shirley (the late Joseph), Bernice “Tootsie” (the late Lou), the late Patrick and the late Daniel (Jeanne); Beloved daughter of the late Robert and the late Bernice; and numerous other family members and friends. 

Together with her late former husband, Eugene Germain, she lovingly raised six children, leaving behind a legacy of family and devotion.  She was proud to have worked more than 27 years at GTE (General Telephone & Electronics Corporation) where she held several different positions before she retired. She loved spending time with her family and friends leaving behind unforgettable memories.  She enjoyed reading, playing cards and cooking. She was known for her love of her family, positive personality, generosity, and strength. 

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ciel Senior Living in Long Grove for their compassionate care.  

A visitation will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 10am until 12pm. A prayer service will follow at 12pm at the same location.   1. Thank you for the honor and privilege to care for Billie Rae. She was a lovely lady who found friends here very fast and was quickly loved by many. Our condolences and prayers to all the family.
