Lloyd R. Sparks

Lloyd R. Sparks, age 70, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at his home.  He was born on November 6, 1948 in Colbert County, Alabama. He was a Mason, a veteran of the US Army and member of the American Legion.  He was retired from Drake Concrete. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Barbara Sparks, whom he married on June 17, 1990; his children, Tina Sparks, Tiffany (Eric) King, Frank (Stacey) Kindle, and Ryan (Katrina) Kindle; his grandchildren, Matthew, Kayleigh, Kenadie, Mason, Cameron and Dylan; his siblings, Melvin, J.W., Hillard, Cecil, and Peggy; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nettie Sparks; daughter, Ashley Sparks; and siblings, Christine, Donna Jean, Marjorie Faye, David, and Delois.A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 9:00am until 11:00am with the funeral service commencing at 11:00am at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Jaskaran Singh

Lester “Les” E. Stang

Lester “Les” E. Stang, age 89, of Grayslake
passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in
Libertyville.  He was born on December
22, 1929 in Libertyville. Les served in the US Army.  He was the owner of the Grayslake Bowling
Alley and was also owner of  Les’s Lounge
for 24 years. He served as board member of the Tavern Owner Association of Lake
County.  He was also the Co-founder of
the Grayslake Fire District, Les was the president and served on the board for
39 years.  He was an avid Cubs fan and
enjoyed 36 years of Cubs spring training in Mesa, AZ.  He was an avid Bears fan and enjoyed
bowling.  Les is survived by his wife,
Mary, whom he married 63 years ago on July 23, 1956.  He is also survived by his children, Margaret
(James) Lesza, Leslie (Mark) Schwenk, Penny (Jimmy) Sivia, Patricia (Amos)
Black, Michael (Sally) Stang, Charles Stang, and Timothy (Tina) Stang; 21
grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn Stang Munts.  He was preceded in death by his parents,
Walter and Vera Stang; brothers, Walter Stang, Charles Stang, and George Stang;
and sisters, Delores Stang Butenschoen, Irene Stang Bratske and Ruth Ann
Stang.  Friends of the family may visit

Jennifer C. Kober

Jennifer C. Kober, 41, a resident of McHenry, IL, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at her home.  She was born January 11, 1978 in Waukegan, IL.  Jennifer was a member of the Jewish Synagogue of Lake County.  She was a human rights activist with Hotel Rwanda Foundation Chicago and a member of the Avon Township Community Garden.  Jennifer worked as a customer care service rep, hotel management, and administration.  Jennifer is survived by her mother Denise (step-father Lauren) Meyer of McHenry, her father Patrick Kober of Round Lake, her sister Emily (Jason) Neel of Round Lake, her brother Tim (Catrina) Kober of Round Lake, her nieces and nephews Kimberly Neel, Brandon Neel, Joshua Neel, Joey Kober, Jamie Kober, Scarlet Kober-Wickman, and Emma Kober-Wickman, her uncle Art Phillips, her cousins Bryan Phillips and Peter Phillips all of Round Lake, and her 2 step-sisters and 1 step-brother.  She was preceded in death by her aunt Doreen Phillips.     A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Gerhard Kutzora

Gerhard Kutzora, age 83, a resident of Grayslake, passed away on July 24, 2019 at Condell Hospital in Libertyville.  He was born on October 9, 1935 in Germany to Emil and Emilie Kutzora.  He is survived by his wife, Irma of 57 years whom he married August 30, 1962 in Chicago.  He is further survived by his children, Peter (Robin) of Richfield, WI and Eric (Linda) of Round Lake, IL; grandchildren, Ryan Kutzora of Richfield, WI, Paige Kutzora of Cincinatti, OH, and Vicki Lange of Rockford, IL; and 5 great-grandchildren, Nick, Mason, Emily, Ellen and Elijah; and brother, Bernhard of Germany.  He is preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Lange; and his siblings, Ernest Kutzora, Suzanne Kutzora and Ursula Deremero. A visitation and memorial service will be held at Lord of Glory Lutheran Church, 607 W. Eva L. Sereno

Eva L. Sereno, 86, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019 at her home in Grayslake.  She was born August 22, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Anst and Eva Ostermeyer.  Eva worked as a secretary to the Commanding Officer of Supply Depot at Great Lakes Naval Base for 15 years and 10 years at College Lake of County.  Eva loved spending time with her husband and her grandchildren.  In her earlier years, Eva enjoyed skiing, ice skating, and crossstitch.  Eva is survived by her husband Anthony Sereno, her children Nicholas Sereno and Susan Brown, her grandchildren Taylor Jaranson and Devon Brown, and her great-grandchild Asher Jaranson.  A visitation is scheduled for Friday, July 26, 2019 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Robert A. Nykaza

Robert A. Nykaza Sr., age 75, of Grayslake, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 in Lake Forest at Northwestern Medical Center.  He was born October 7, 1943  in Chicago to Bernard and Mary Nykaza.  Robert was a union member of Local #17 Heat and Frost Insulators for over 45 years and a parishioner of St. Gilbert Catholic Church.  He loved spending time in Wisconsin at the cabin he built as well as visiting his family in Michigan.  Robert enjoyed spending time with his family as well as golfing, and fishing.  Robert is survived by his children Robert Nykaza Jr. and Jeff (Jennifer) Nykaza Sr., his grandchildren Ariana Nykaza, Jeffrey Nykaza Jr., Elizabeth Nykaza, Mikayla Nykaza, and Nathan Nykaza.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judith Nykaza, and his brother Bruno Nykaza.  Friends of the family may visit at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Ronald E. Munts

Ronald E. Munts, age 87, of Grayslake passed away on July 19, 2019.  He was born in Streator, IL on February 21, 1932 to the late Charles Munts and Dorothy Munts-Bruni.  He graduated from Grant Community High School in 1951.  He served in the Army during the Korean era from 1951-1953, serving in Germany as Corporal.  He was a member of the United Protestant Church of Grayslake, American Legion Post #659, Rising Sun Lodge #115, and Eastern Star Libertyville Chapter #438.  He worked as a machinist for over for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Stang) Munts; whom he married in 1956.  His children, Joanne (Dennis) Vojcak, Bradley Munts, William (Sharon) Munts, Dorothy Madrigal; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; his brother, Charles (Millie) Munts; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James; and sister, Carol Chaney. 

A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from 10:00am until 11:00am with the funeral service commencing at 11:00am at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Dorothy C. Setzer

Dorothy Claire Setzer, 90, a resident of Lindenhurst, IL, entered into eternal life Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL.  She was born December 29, 1928 in Neola, IA to Paul and Edna Eckrich.  Dorothy was a longtime communicant of St. Gilbert Catholic Church.  She loved square dancing and was a member of the Woodshed Whirlers from Johnsburg.  Dorothy enjoyed quilting, gardening, bird and butterfly watching, crossword puzzles and watching the Wheel of Fortune.  Dorothy created a home full of love that spanned many decades and six states.  Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her children Gloria Meschi of Ulster Park, NY, Gregory Setzer of Rosenberg, TX, Jacqueline Setzer of Lindenhurst, IL, Elizabeth (Samuel) Benton of Royal Oak, MI, John (Kara) Setzer of Round Lake Beach, IL, Diana (Mark) Smetters of Sugar Land, TX, and Paul (Ginger) Setzer of Gurnee, IL, her grandchildren Kristina Meschi, Zachary Benton, Jacob Benton, Justin Strain, Nikolas Setzer, Kristie Furlan, Kyle Setzer, and Kaden Setzer, her great-grandchildren Tyler and Carter Furlan, her sister Bernice Young, and her nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack Setzer, her 2 brothers and 1 sister.  A visitation and funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 10:00am until 12:00pm with the funeral Mass commencing at 12:00pm at St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Virginia L. Kolseth

Virginia “Ginny” Lee Kolseth nee Dobbs, 90 passed away July 15th at Warren Barr Lincolnshire. She was born on December 23, 1928 in Chicago ,  graduated from Morton High School (Cicero, IL) and graduated from the University of Miami (FL). She worked for Equitable Insurance where she worked until 1958. In 1956, she married Donald and they raised their family in Bellwood, IL, where she enjoyed working as a  substitute teacher as well as a teacher for children with special needs. She retired when Don was transferred to Louisville, KY in 1968. Ginny loved water skiing, golf, knitting, sewing, quilting and travel. They retired in Lake Geneva, WI, where she enjoyed volunteering with Immanuel Lutheran church’s after school program and knitting prayer shawls.  Beloved wife of Donald Kolseth for 63 years, loving mother of Donna (Peter) Eckert, Kurt (Mary Kay) Kolseth, proud grandmother of Lee Eckert, Melanie Eckert, the late Linda Eckert and the late Benjamin Kolseth. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, July 19, 2019 at 12:00pm(noon) at Warren Barr Lincolnshire 150 Jamestown Rd.
