Wayne “Hawk” D. Kowalski

HAWK Wayne D Kowalski age 75 of Fox Lake passed away on Friday November 20 2020 after a battle with Covid. The son of the late Casimir and Florence (Rakowski) Kowalski . He was born on January 10, 1945 in Chicago, IL .He was a graduate of Round Lake High School class of 1963. He was a police officer for the Village of Round Lake Heights from 1966 to 1971 then Chief of police from 1971 to 1975 also holding the rank of Sergeant and Captain before leaving law enforcement in 1975.He was a circuit board draftsman for numerous companies from Honeywell to his company Bit 7 Inc. July 22 1980 he married his love Diane Stevens in Waukegan sadly she passed away suddenly on January 25 1999 . Hawk was a founding member of the Deaths Marauders Mc he loved each and every member past and present. He was an avid collector of many things and a regular at his favorite coin shop in McHenry. Hawk loved Fox Lake and enjoyed many places from the Dwight House pub to Pmo club on 59. He is survived by his brother Casimir (Dottie) Kowalski sons Bud and Wayne (Andrea) Kowalski grandsons Steven, Alex, and Austin . Many nieces And nephews . Thank you to Pat and the many people who looked out for and cared for him. He was also preceded in death by his brother Tom . A celebration of Hawks life will be held at a later date through the club. All funeral arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd Grayslake, IL 60030. In lieu of flowers a donation to a local food bank or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
