Virginia Blume

Virginia Blume, 65, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Friday December 26, 2014. She was born August 13, 1949 in Chicago, to William and Tina Blume. Virginia was a member of the Vernon Hills Senior Club, Germania Club, the Red Hat Club, SPRED with Santa Maria in Mundelein, and SRACLC. She had worked for Columbus Hospital in Chicago for 24 years, volunteered at Countryside Center in Palatine, and participated in Special Olympics in Chicago. Virginia is survived by her sister Marge Blume and her friend Steve Desser. She was preceded in death by her parents. A visitation is scheduled for Saturday January 3, 2014 from 10:00am until 11:00am with a funeral service commencing at 11:00am at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. The interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Special Olympics.
