Velma M. Bobrick

Velma M. Bobrick, 80, a long time resident of Wildwood passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Waukegan, IL. Velma was born on April 27, 1937 to Mabel Hoffmeyer in Palatine, Illinois. Velma was a member of Warren Township Senior Center where she loved to play bingo and socialize. Velma also loved to knit in her spare time, her famous knitted slippers were given to many friends and family throughout her years. She made a lasting impression on everyone she met, with her kind yet spunky personality. Velma religiously made sure the children of Woodland Schools were safely driven to and from school everyday as she was a school bus driver for 33 years. Velma is survived by her sisters Ethel (Darwin) Hallenbeck and Linda (Larry) Fox, her children William (Charla) Bobrick, Debra Hall and Kenneth (Susan) Bobrick, her grandchildren Jennifer (Robert) Kniskern, Kimberly (Benjamin) Davis, Adam Petlak, Brandi (David) Marienau, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial visitation and service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with the service commencing at 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematoriam, 410 E.
