Judge Thomas William James, age 90, of Cary, Illinois, passed away May 18, 2015 in Cary. He was born in Evanston to William and Rose James on May 18, 1925. Retiring as a judge in 1997, Thomas loved to watch tennis and volunteered at the Shedd Aquarium. He also was in the choir of the symphony orchestra. He is survived by his daughters, Susan (Chris) Karnuth of Grayslake and Sarah (Tom) Anderson of Cary; and his grandchildren, Samantha Karnuth of Grayslake, Allyson Karnuth of Grayslake, Hunter Niemann of Cary, Emily Anderson of Cary and Abby Anderson of Cary. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ewing James. Friends of the family may visit on Friday, May 29, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the funeral service commencing at 7:00 p.m. at the Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030.
