Theresa Maggio

The family of Theresa Maggio shares with deep sadness her passing on August 9, 2026. Born in Chicago, IL on April 6, 1938, Theresa lived 88 full and meaningful years.

She is survived by her children Peter Maggio, Lisa (Ken) Kwiecien, and Paul (Jennifer) Maggio; her grandchildren Zach (Merce), Matthew (Kathryn), Ella, and Joey.

Theresa loved her grandchildren deeply. She was a proud Nana who attended every event and milestone, and the grandkids will forever remember her slipping them twenties whenever Papa stepped out of the room.

Outside of her days “in medicine”, as an office manager, Theresa found joy in playing the piano. She never made it to the stage, but she loved the journey. She was also an exceptional cook who took great pride in hosting dinner parties and her annual Christmas Eve gatherings. No one set a more beautiful table than Theresa.

Theresa is now reunited with her beloved sisters, her lifelong friends, and her husband.

Visitation and Funeral Services will take place at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E Belvidere Rd, Grayslake, IL 60030, on Saturday, September 19th. Visitation begins at 9:00 AM, with Mass at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow at The Vine – Martini & Wine Bar, 101 Center Street, Grayslake.
