Sophie Theresa Michno

Sophie T. Michno, 96, passed away on November 11, 2018. She was the beloved mother of Christina Ritter, Ronald Michno, and Ron's wife, Pauline; grandmother to Jessica and Alissa Ritter and Pauline's children, Elizabeth, Connie and Ray; sister of Joanne Boratyn; nephew, James Boratyn and Bernadette (Jimmy and Melissa Boratyn and Jackie Boratyn); nieces, Linda, Marilyn and Carol, and their three children Maureen, Gerald and Christine. Forever friend Kathy Paavilainen and her daughter Bridget were angels who looked over her for too many years to count! Sophie was born on Christmas Day in 1921 and loved to play Santa on her birthday every year. Her Christmas decorations brought her much joy. A devout Catholic, she attended church all of her life. She, along with her deceased husband, Emil, ran Michno's Inn in Gages Lake for over a decade. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. A funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030. Internment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
