Shirley (Beaudoin) Neshek, 95, formerly of Libertyville, IL and Green Valley, AZ died February 16, 2024, in Lincolnshire, IL. Shirley was born April 13, 1928, in Coleman, WI to Edward and Julia (Woulf) Beaudoin in her father's cheese factory. She attended school in New London, Pound, and Goodman, WI and graduated from Messmer High School in Milwaukee, WI. She then attended a nursing program at St. Vincent's Hospital in Chicago receiving a nursing certificate in obstetrics and pediatrics. She worked at St. Michael's in Milwaukee, eventually becoming a private duty baby nurse on the north shore of Milwaukee. Shirley married James A. Neshek on June 2, 1951, at Marquette-Chapel of Gesu in Milwaukee, WI. They lived in Marinette, WI, Rock Island and Libertyville, IL, finally retiring in Green Valley, AZ and their cottage on Lee Lake, WI. Shirley worked as a Kelly Girl eventually being hired by Rust-Oleum in Vernon Hills in Human Resources. While living in AZ, Shirley was a docent at the Titan Missile Museum, member of the Lions Club of Green Valley and worked spring training for the White Sox even though she was a life-long Cubs fan! She was an avid bridge player, reader, traveler and member of URP, but family always came first. Shirley was Mom to her 6 children: Beth (Mark) Bobel, IL, John (Debbie) Neshek, CA, Mary Neshek, MT, Jean Neshek-Dowe, MO, Annie Sullivan, AZ and Laura (Paul) Pavlus, IL, Grandma to her 17 grandchildren and GG to her 14 great-grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her sister, Marilyn Fazer, many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her brother, Bill Beaudoin and sister Mary Nelson Charlier. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date at her WI cottage. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Accord Hospice, 400 Lake Cook Road, Suite 223, Deerfield, IL 60015.The family thanks the staff of Radford Green at Sedgebrook and Accord Hospice for their kind and loving care. Arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel, Grayslake, IL.
