Sheila Marie DeLaMar

Sheila Marie DeLaMar, 87, a resident of Wheeling, IL, passed away on November 17, 2025 at Village of Victory Lakes in Lindenhurst, IL. She was born on May 1, 1938 in Chicago to Arthur and Lillian Devereaux. She was a member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church and the Elk’s Club.

Sheila was by loved by many and most remembered for her baking, her crafting, her hospitality and her devotion to her family.  She will be dearly missed.

Sheila is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Marybeth), Mark (Lisa) of Grayslake, and Julie (Alexander) Heldt of Hainesville; her grandchildren, Steven, Noel, Patrick, Caitlin, Jack, Aidan, Madyn, Kevin, Kara, Tessa, Mia, Maren Heldt, Logan Heldt, and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, George H. DeLaMar; and her brother, Michael Devereaux.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 11am. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00am until the time of Mass. Interment will be held at All Saints Catholic Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the Alzheimer’s Association. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030.
