Rita J. Obenauf

Rita J. Obenauf, 85, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.  She was born June 22, 1932 the only daughter of Bernard and Cecelia (nee: Dutzler) Obenauf.  Rita lived most of her life in Fremont Center until moving to Grayslake.  She was an avid Cubs fan and love to read.  Rita worked and had a passion for being a Registered Nurse.  Rita is survived by her many cousins, including her godchildren Eric (Rosie) Smyth and Sher (John) Shirey and her closest cousins John and Mary Anne Baier.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Monday, August 28, 2017 from 9:00am until 11:00am with the service commencing at 11:00am at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030.   Interment will be held following the service at St. Mary Cemetery in Fremont.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or Boys Town 200 Flanagan Blvd. PO Box 8000 Boys Town, NE 68010.
