Paul W. Rateike

Paul W. Rateike, 87, a  resident of Hainesville, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Journeycare Hospice in Barrington, IL.  He was born on August 8, 1931 in Palatine, IL to Paul and Anna Rateike.  Paul was a veteran having served for the US Army and worked for over 40 years as a plumber with Union #130.   He was a devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mt. Prospect until becoming a member of Lord of Glory Lutheran Church in Grayslake since moving to Hainesville.  Paul is survived by his children John Rateike and Susan (Jeff) Gately, his grandchildren Allison and Jake Gately and his many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Kay, his son Scott, and his brother and 4 sisters.  Friends of the family may visit at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.  The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Lord of Glory Lutheran Church, 607 W.
