Paul Prause

Paul Prause, 88, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020 at Burr Oak Assisted Living in Genoa City, WI.  Paul was born August 30, 1931 in Ullersdorf, Germany to Paul and Maria Prause.  He was an avid chess player, enjoyed walking, eating out for dinner and breakfast, and getting together with his family for birthdays and celebrating Christmas.  Paul is survived by his children Gabrielle (Sam) Mudrak and Connie (Mark) Gorsky, his grandchildren Kelly (Scott) Makela, Steven (Heidi) Mudrak, Samantha (Jon) Blanc, and Adam Gorsky, his great-grandchildren Kaarina and Kamryn Makela, Aiden, Hannah, Elliott, and Hadley Mudrak, and Josephine and Gavin Blanc, his 3 brothers, and many nieces and nephews in Germany.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his 3 sisters, the mother of his children Margot Prause, and his longtime companion Carmelita Giron.  A visitation and funeral mass are scheduled for Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 10:00am until 11:00am with the funeral mass commencing at 11:00am at St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030.  Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. All funeral arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd.
