Michael B. Scholz

Michael B. Scholz, 73, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at his home.  He was born July 9, 1945 in Chicago to Bernard and Josephine Scholz.  Michael was a Purple Heart Veteran having served for the US Army as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War.  He was an avid Bears fan, volunteered at the Captain James A. Lovell VA Hospital, and loved telling stories.  Michael is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia, his daughter Kristen (David) Schertz, his stepson Steven (Kelli) Pfeffer, his grandchildren Keira and Michaela Schertz, and his siblings Rita Schoonderwoerd and George (Betty) Scholz.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael Patrick Scholz, and his sisters Joann Kusinski and Mary Fitzpatrick.  A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030.  The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 10:30am at St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Belvidere Rd.
