Michael David Cummings

Michael David Cummings, age 67, of Round Lake, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born in Petersburg, IL on October 8, 1947 to Charles and Aileen (nee Moore) Cummings. Mike loved the Cubs and NASCAR. He was a Vietnam veteran and a lifelong member of the VFW. He retired from the Department of Corrections after 28 years. Mike is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen, whom he married on February 25, 1972 in Phoenix, AZ; his father, Charles Felix; his children Katrina (Brad) Barger of Herrin, IL and Michael (Jana) Cummings of Round Lake; his grandchildren, Kirsten Edwards, Colton Edwards, Aidan Barger, Madeleine Cummings, Evan Cummings and Camden Cummings; and his siblings, Linda Scranton of Tremont, IL, Larry (Carol) Cummings of Springfield, IL, Kay Cooper of Beardstown, IL, Cindy (Mark) Addler of Peoria, AZ, and Chuck Cummings of Bloomington, IN. He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother-in-law, Robert Scranton. A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home, 122 West Douglas Avenue, Petersburg, IL 62675.
