Marlene Ann Badgerow
October 27, 1933 – October 10,2026
Marlene Ann Badgerow, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, of Grayslake, Illinois, will be remembered for her deep love of the Lord, her devotion to her family, and her wonderful gift of hospitality.
Marlene was the beloved wife of James (Jerry) Gerald Badgerow for 69 wonderful years. Together, they shared a life centered on love, family, and faith. She was a devoted mother to her three children: Niles (Tina) Badgerow, Dale (Arminda) Badgerow, and Gale (Walter) Pyles. Her family was one of her greatest blessings, and she treasured the many generations who brought joy to her life.
She was a proud grandmother to Brandy (CJ), Jamie (Rick), Casandra (Sean), Jenna (Ricky), Devon, Everett (Kayla), Emily, Faith, and Hannah, and a loving great-grandmother to Kibou, Angelina, Patrick, Aubree, Lucy, Parker ,Stevie, and Michael. Her love for her family was a defining part of who she was, and her legacy will live on through them.
Throughout her working years, Marlene enjoyed a career as a secretary in several different organizations and took great pride in her work. She was also an active member of the Exchange Club of Grayslake, where she valued fellowship and community.
Marlene’s faith in Jesus was at the center of her life. She dearly loved her churches and joyfully served her church communities at United Protestant Church in Grayslake, Illinois; Fairfield Glade in Tennessee; and Song of Life in Arizona. Her faith was more than something she believed—it was something she lived each day through her love, kindness, and service to others.
Marlene had a special passion for hospitality. She loved welcoming others, bringing people together, and making those around her feel loved and at home. Her generous spirit and warm heart were gifts she shared freely with family, friends, and her church communities.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Rose Horenberger, and her sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Bill Kilman.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 69 years, James (Jerry) Gerald Badgerow; her children and their spouses; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Above all, Marlene would want to be remembered for her love of Jesus, her unwavering love for her husband and family, and her joy in opening her heart and home to others. Her life was a testament to faith, love, and service, and the many lives she touched will continue to reflect the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
