Mario Reyes

Mario Reyes, age 50, of Skokie, passed away at Evanston Hospital in Evanston on Saturday, September 10, 2016.  He was born in Mexico on October 10, 1965 to Jose and Martha (Valadez) Reyes.  Mario was a loving and hard working father.  He was a loyal Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox fan.  He was also a great warrior, fighter who fought cancer for 4 years 9 months till the last minute.  He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Martha, whom he married in Cicero on June 17, 1995; his children, Emily of Skokie and Cristian of Skokie; his siblings, Javier (Blanca) of Chicago, Maria Elena (Jacinto) of Mexico, Patricia (Valtazar) of Mexico, Raul (Luz) of Indiana, Elsa (Saul) of Chicago, Carmen (Gumaro) of Chicago, Jose Manuel (Linda) of Chicago,  and Claudia of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by one sister, Alicia. A memorial mass is scheduled for Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030.  Memorial contributions may be made in Mario's name to the American Cancer Society.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030.  For information, please call 847-223-8122 or go to www.strangfuneral.org.
