Leo J Nycz, 92, passed away peacefully at his home on August 5, 2022. Leo was born February 8, 1930, the son of the late Michael and Josephine Nycz. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Jean Venet and Rose Ostrowski, and his beloved wife of 52 years, Rosemary Nycz.

Always with a joke at the ready, Leo worked as a lineman for Commonwealth Edison and enjoyed spending time polka dancing, traveling, woodworking, and being with family. He was always willing to lend a hand. Leo attended Holy Rosary grade school, Waukegan H.S. Class of '48, was a former member of Holy Family Church in North Chicago where he resided until his children had grown, and is a current member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church in Grayslake, Ill.

Leo was the loving father of Michael Nycz, Linda (Frederick) Treven, and Therese (Thomas) Rosko. Cherished grandfather of Korie (Matt) Mitchell, Kristy (George) Trausch, and Laurie and Brian Rosko. Doting great-grandfather to Kyle Mitchell. Lifelong friend to John Guilbault.  Fond uncle to several nieces and nephews.

The children offer a special note of thanks to Journey Care Hospice for their support and compassion.

A Christian Burial Mass will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030.  A visitation will be held on Friday at church from 10:00am until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
