Kimberly Ann Brefeld

Kimberly Ann Brefeld, 39, a resident of Round Lake Beach, IL, passed away on July 27, 2026 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born on February 11, 1987 in Waukegan to Diane and George Brefeld. Kim found her greatest joy in spending time with the people and animals she loved. She treasured her special mother-daughter dates, date nights with her husband, dinners with her parents, visits with her in-laws, and the many happy memories made with her nieces and nephew. Kim also loved caring for her animals, creating beautiful diamond art, and enjoying family trips to Great Wolf Lodge. 

Kimberly is survived by her husband, David Gonzalez, of 17 years; her parents, Diane and George Brefeld; her brother, Gregory (Stephanie) Brefeld of Round Lake; her nieces and nephews, Tenley, Harper, Addison, and Camden; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

A Funeral Service will be held Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Monday, August 3, 2026 at 1pm. A visitation will be held on Monday from 11am until the start of the service. Interment will be held at Avon Centre Cemetery in Grayslake, IL.
