Kenneth J. Swanson, age 70, of Round Lake Beach, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 in Chicago. He was born August 23, 1945 in Chicago.  He was retired from the Village of Round Lake Beach after 35 years.  He was the loving father of David (Julie Marie) Swanson, Tony Swanson and Robert Swanson; cherished grandfather of Dustin, CJ, Samantha, Cydney and Camryn; dear great-grandfather of Andjeck, Xavier and Britton. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Linda) Swanson, brother-in-law, Tom (Karen) Marolda, Mary Marik, Wendy (Chris) Hartman, James Marolda, Judy Marolda; and nieces and nephews, John Erick, Matt, Elizabeth, Heather, Joe, Mike, Christopher, Ashley and John.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Helen Swanson and his wife, Linda Swanson, whom he married on August 23, 1969 and who passed away on November 29, 2011. Friends of the family may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030.  The funeral service will be on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel.  Interment will follow at Willow Lawn Memorial Park in Vernon Hills.  For information, please call 847-223-8122 or visit www.strangfuneral.org.
