Karen Louise Rich

Karen Louise Rich, 91, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away on January 27, 2026. She was born on November 11, 1934 in Chicago to Walter and Johanna Vandernald. 

Karen is survived by her children, Kathe (Frank Popp) Rich of Fairbanks, AK, and Kent (Robyn) Rich of Monson, ME; his granddaughter, Annie Rich of Portland, ME; her brother, Walter H. "Bud" Vandernald II of Barrington, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Kent Rich; her parents; and her sisters, Lorraine Graf and Nancy Slodki. 

A Memorial Service will be held later this year. All arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. For more
