Karen Elaine Caviness

Karen Elaine Caviness, age 81, of Round Lake Beach, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Round Lake Beach.  She was born August 14, 1939 in Chicago to Soren and Florence (Sorensen) Madsen.  As a younger woman, she enjoyed roller skating and playing the organ.  She also loved animals and watching her nephews play sports.  She traveled extensively and was an avid reader.  Karen is survived by her brother, Charles Madsen of McHenry;  four nephews, Brien (Debbie) Madsen of Johnsburg, Robert (Renee) Madsen of Lakemoor, Charles B. (Jillian) Madsen of McHenry and Michael (Katie) Madsen of Twin Lakes, WI; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews, Morgan, Megan, Macy, Christian (CJ), Julieanna, Jaxon, Griffin, Josie and Regan.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Andrew, and her sister-in-law Mary Lynn Madsen. Memorial contributions may be made to Save-A-Pet or to the United Protestant Church, Grayslake.  All services were held privately.
