Joyce E. Hanlon

Joyce E. Hanlon passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 at the age of 99 in Round Lake Beach, IL.

She was born on October 22, 1924, in England, the town of Woolwich to Minnie Maud Meyers and Sydney Albert Rayner. She attended Kings Warren (Brown School) boarding school.

She lived in Zion, IL for 60 plus years and was an Illinois Bell Operator for 30 years, in Waukegan, IL. Joyce was a member of Zion's Women's Auxiliary, Kiwanis, Modal A Club, Women's American Legion, Grace Missionary Church bible study group, volunteer tutor at Zion-Benton High School and election judge.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, John of 51 years.  She was a devoted mother of seven children, Eric (Libby), Donna, Mark (Wendy), Stephen (Judy), Valerie, Trudi (Benny Preslar), Cherylann (Greg Herman); Proud Grandmother to, Michael (Paula), Rabecca, Sonja (Corey), Amy, Matthew, John, Jeremy, Glen, Maxx and Maggy; Great Grandmother to, Sheyenne (Cody), Maesa, Chance, David, Stephanie, Laylah, Kailani, Caleb, Halia; and Great-Great Grandmother to Shylloe.
