Jon H. "Jack" Kordt, 84, passed away on July 19, 2022 at home with family by his side. Jack was born in Waukegan, IL, on May 28, 1938, to Herbert and Lorraine Kordt nee Kemnitz. Jack graduated from Grayslake High School in 1956. After attending Bradley University, he enlisted in the armed forces, where he spent three years in Lubeck, Germany. After returning home, Jack met Sharon Kulik, whom he married in 1966. Jack owned and operated a small family business for over 40 years.
Jack was an accomplished artist and photographer who belonged to the Lake County Art League. He had a passion for sailing, a love for nature, and he enjoyed spending winters skiing in the Colorado mountains. Jack was a kind, and caring man.
Jack is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon, his children Justine (John) Headley of Fort Collins, Co, Timothy (Christine) Kordt of Antioch, Il, his grandchild Wrigley Kordt of Antioch, Il, his sister Judy Wilkie of Blissfield, MI, and several nieces and nephews.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother-in-law, Ed Wilkie.
A visitation will be held at the Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E. Belvidere RD, Grayslake, Il on Monday, August 1, 2022 from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. A memorial service will start at 1 P.M.
